Foolproof dark chocolate fudge (borden)

3 | eaches | 6-oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate |
Chips (3 cups) | ||
1 | each | 14-oz can Eagle Brand condensed |
Milk (not evaporated!) | ||
1 | each | Dash of salt |
½ | cup | Chopped nuts (to 1 cup) |
1½ | teaspoon | Vanilla extract |

In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with milk and salt.
remove from heat; stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread evenly into wax paper-lined 8 or 9-inch square pan. chill 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge onto cutting board; peel off paper and cut into squares. Store loosely covered at room temp. MICROWAVE: In qt glass measure, combine chips with milk and salt. Cook on 100% (high) for 3 minutes or until chips melt, stirring after each 1½ minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Preceed as above.
