Green bean medley

Ingredients

pounds Green beans -- fresh halved
1 medium Onion -- cut into rings
1 each Celery ribs -- sliced
3 eaches Carrots -- cut 2 inch
Strips
1 teaspoon Salt -- optional
3 tablespoons Fresh savory -- minced
Or 2 or 3 teaspoon dried
Savory
1 cup Water
teaspoon Pepper

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5-10 min. or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon to a serving dish.

Yield 6 servings: Diabetic Exchanges: One serving (prepared without added salt) equal 1½ vegetable; also, 41 calories, 20 mg sodium, 0 cholesterol, 9 gm carbohydrate, 2 gm protein, trace fat.
