Ham and chicken au gratin

Ingredients

⅓ | cup | Butter |
⅛ | teaspoon | Nutmeg |
⅔ | cup | Onions; chopped |
⅛ | teaspoon | Pepper |
⅓ | cup | Flour |
3 | cups | Ham; cooked, diced |
3 | cups | Milk |
2 | cups | Chicken; cooked, diced |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | cup | Sharp cheddar cheese; cut up |
2 | cups | Rice; cooked |
½ | cup | Buttered fresh breadcrumbs |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350~. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat; saute onions til tender. Stir in flour; slowly add milk, stirring constantly til thickened. Combine with remaining ingredients except crumbs in casserole.
Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350~ for 30 to 35 minutes or til brown.
Makes 4-6 servings.
