Hard sauce for plum puddings

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 ounces Butter
4 ounces Sugar
1 tablespoon Brandy
2 tablespoons Almonds; ground **

Directions

** 1 drop of almond essence can be used instead of the ground almonds.

Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl and then gradually beat in the brandy and the ground almonds. Put into a serving dish and refrigerate until required. This sauce can be served with any kind of steamed plum or fruit pudding.
