HOLIDAY NUT STUFFING
Here's a luxurious twist on the old fashioned (but still great) bread stuffing from teh turkey folks. INGREDIENTS:
1 lg Onion; chopped
8 oz Mushrooms; thickly sliced
½ c Butter
¼ c Pecans
¼ c Hazelnuts (Filberts)
¼ c Almond slivers
2 c Dried Bread Cubes
½ c Celery; chopped
1 tb Poultry seasoning
DIRECTIONS:
1. In hot skillet, saute onion and mushrooms in butter until tender.
Add nuts and mix well. Remove from heat. In large bowl, add bread cubes, celery and poultry seasoning. Gently mix the two together and stuff into prepared turkey cavity.
2. To cook extra stuffing, place in a greased casserole, cover and bake during the last 40 minutes of roasting time.
