Hot slaw with apples

Ingredients

6 cups CABBAGE, FINE CHOPPED
3 tablespoons WATER
3 tablespoons LEMON JUICE
2 tablespoons SUGAR
3 tablespoons BUTTER OR SALAD OIL
teaspoon SALT
½ teaspoon CARAWAY SEEDS
1 large APPLE, UNPEELED, THIN SLICED

Directions

Place all ingredients except apple slices in skillet; cook, uncovered, over medium high heat, stirring until cabbage is tender, about 3 minutes.

Reduce heat to low; add apple, cover and cook 1 minute longer. Serve at once.
