Jalapeno pepper cornbread

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Corn meal
1 cup Buttermilk
2 eaches Eggs
½ cup Bacon drippings
¾ teaspoon Baking soda
½ teaspoon Salt
1 medium Onion, chopped
3 eaches Jalapenos
½ can Cream style corn
¾ cup Cheese, cut up
½ pounds Ground meat, cooked (opt.)

Directions

Mix all ingredients except the cheese. Pour ½ of the batter in a greased iron skillet that has been heated. Sprinkle ground meat over it then cheese. Add rest of the batter. Do not let the cheese touch the side of the pan or the cornbread will stick.
