Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 tablespoon Shortening
½ cup Onion, chopped
¼ cup Green pepper, chopped
¼ cup Celery, chopped
1 pounds Ground beef
¼ cup Cheddar cheese, diced
8 ounces Tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Vinegar
1 tablespoon Sugar
teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
teaspoon Pepper
1 teaspoon Salt
5 eaches Hamburger buns, toasted
Split into halves

Directions

Melt shortening in top of chafing dish or heavy skillet directly over heat. Add onion, green pepper, and celery. Cook till lightly browned. Add beef, stirring with fork while beef browns. Add remaining ingredients except buns. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. To serve, spoon on warm buns. Eat with fork **JJ** 102195.1837
