Molho de pimenta e limao - chile & lime sau

4 Preserved malagueta peppers, minced, or to taste
1 teaspoon Salt
1 small Onion, minced
1 Clove garlic, minced
5 Juice of 5 limes

Directions

Place the malagueta peppers and salt in a mortar and crush them with the pestle or process them in a blender or food processor until you have a thick paste. Gradually add the onion and garlic and continue to mash into the paste. Then add lime juice to the paste, mashing as you do, until you have a liquid sauce. Cover with plastic wrap, allow to stand at room temperature for half an hour, and serve. Makes about ½ cup.
