Mr. food's crab potato cakes

12 Patties
1 pounds Imitation crabmeat, shredded
cup Frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed
2 Eggs
1 cup Bread crumbs
1 teaspoon Seafood seasoning
½ teaspoon Onion powder
½ teaspoon Salt
teaspoon Black pepper
3 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the oil; mix well then form into 12 patties. In a large skillet, heat the oil just until hot (not smoking) over medium heat. Add the patties and pan try for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown. NOTE: if you want to get more of the taste and texture of authentic crab cakes without breaking the bank, you can shred a small can of real crabmeat and mix it in, too!
