New orleans shrimp

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 cups Water
1 Clove garlic, crushed Salt and pepper to taste
1 small Bay leaf
4 Stalks celery, finely chopped
1 pounds Medium shrimp, cleaned
4 Scallions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons Olive oil
¼ cup Lemon or lime juice
¼ cup Chili sauce
¼ cup Ketchup
1 tablespoon Freshly grated horseradish
1 tablespoon Prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Paprika Pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

Bring water to boil. Add garlic, salt, pepper, bay leaf, celery, shrimp, and half the scallions. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Drain; remove the bay leaf. Place shrimp mixture in a bowl and let cool.

Combine remaining ingredients in a seperate bowl; mix well. Pour over shrimp and mix until well blended. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Serve shrimp and sauce in glass bowl placed in bowl of cracked ice.

Serve with toothpicks.
