Noodle pudding with apples and nuts
1 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
½ | pounds | Cooked broad noodles |
2 | tablespoons | Butter |
3 | Eggs; separated | |
1 | cup | Sugar |
1½ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
2 | Apples; sliced | |
¼ | cup | Dried currants or raisins |
½ | cup | Chopped nuts |
Directions
Boil noodles and drain. Heat butter in a skillet, add the noodles and cook just long enough to absorb the fat. Remove from heat, add beaten yolks, sugar, rest of ingredients and stiffly beaten egg whites. Place in a well-greased baking dish or sprayed with a non-stick spray such as Pam.
Bake half an hour in a moderate oven, (350 degrees). Serve hot with any dessert sauce. >From The Settlement Cookbook, AOL Holiday Kugel collection, complied by Joan C. Lavine, Los Angeles, California.
