½ | pounds | Egg noodles |
3 | tablespoons | Butter |
¼ | each | Onion, finely chopped |
¼ | cup | Bread crumbs |
1 | tablespoon | Poppy seeds (or caraway seeds) [I used to use poppy seeds] |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
⅛ | teaspoon | Pepper |
Directions
FROM: MARGE CLARK
Cook the noodles in boiling, salted water until they are soft but still firm. do NOT over cook. Drain noodles and keep warm. Melt butter in large frying pan. Add onion and saute until they are a light golden colour. Add the bread crumbs, poppy seeds, and the noodles. Toss lightly to mix thoroughly, and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
