Hungarian cabbage and noodles

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pounds Shredded cabbage; (3 1/2c.)
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Shortening
1 small Onion; chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ pounds Noodles (wide); about 2 c.

Directions

Mix cabbage with salt and allow to stand ½ hour. Squeeze dry. Heat shortening in skillet and saute cabbage onion, stirring occasionally until cabbage is lightly browned and tender. Season with salt and pepper. Cook noodles; drain. Mix noodles with cabbage, heat and serve.
