Okra in a savoury sauce

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 medium Onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
3 eaches Garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon Grated ginger
1 teaspoon Chopped fresh green chilies
¼ teaspoon Turmeric
2 tablespoons Ground almond
1 each Tomato, chopped
10 eaches Okra, cut into 3/4\" disks
¼ teaspoon Salt

Directions

Saute onion in oil, stirring constantly until reddish brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in garlic, ginger, chili, turmeric & almond. Add tomato & cook for a minute. Add okra & mix well. Simmer, covered, for 6 or 7 minutes. Stir in salt. Just before serving, sprinkle cilantro or parsley on top.
