Okra in a savoury sauce

Ingredients

1 | medium | Onion, thinly sliced |
2 | tablespoons | Vegetable oil |
3 | eaches | Garlic cloves, minced |
1 | tablespoon | Grated ginger |
1 | teaspoon | Chopped fresh green chilies |
¼ | teaspoon | Turmeric |
2 | tablespoons | Ground almond |
1 | each | Tomato, chopped |
10 | eaches | Okra, cut into 3/4\" disks |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
Directions
Saute onion in oil, stirring constantly until reddish brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in garlic, ginger, chili, turmeric & almond. Add tomato & cook for a minute. Add okra & mix well. Simmer, covered, for 6 or 7 minutes. Stir in salt. Just before serving, sprinkle cilantro or parsley on top.
