Orange pecans

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
4 teaspoons Grated orange peel
2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ground coriander
½ teaspoon Ground cloves
¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
2 cups Pecan halves -- (about 10 ozs)
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 F. Melt butter in heavy medium saucepan over low heat. Add orange peel, cinnamon, coriander, cloves and cayenne and stir until aromatic, about 30 secs. Add pecans, then sugar and salt and stir to coat evenly.

Transfer nut mixture to baking sheet. Bake until nuts are toasted, stirring occasionally, about 20 mins. Cool (Can be prepared 3 days ahead. Store in airtight container at room temp.) 26 Oct 1995
