Pan-barbecued steak

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 each Round steak, about 2 pounds
½ teaspoon Salt (or garlic salt)
½ teaspoon Pepper
3 tablespoons Shortening
1 each Onion; chopped
1 tablespoon Celery seed
1 clove Garlic; chopped
4 tablespoons Brown sugar
4 tablespoons Prepared mustard
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Lemon juice
1 can (10-3/4 oz) tomato soup

Directions

Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Melt shortening in heavy skillet; brown steak with onion, celery

seed and garlic. Add remaining ingredients; simmer, covered, for 1-½ hours. Check after 45 minutes; add a little water if necessary, and stir.
