Pear-nut souffle salad

Ingredients

3 | ounces | Gelatin, lemon- or lime-flav |
1 | cup | Water; boiling |
½ | cup | Water; cold |
½ | cup | Mayonnaise |
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
16 | ounces | Pears; drained and diced |
3 | ounces | Cream cheese; softened |
¼ | cup | Walnuts or pecans; chopped |
Directions
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir until dissolved. Add cold water, mayonnaise, and salt; beat until smooth. Pour into a 9x5" loafpan. Chill in freezer for 20 to 25 minutes or until firm 1 inch from edge of pan but still soft in center. Combine pears, cream cheese, and nuts. Whip chilled gelatin until thick and slightly fluffy. Fold in pear mixture. Pour into 1-quart mold or individual molds. Chill until firm.
