Potatoes with poppy seeds

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
6 smalls Firm potatoes
6 tablespoons Oil
3 eaches Whole red chiles
½ cup White poppy seeds, ground
½ teaspoon Turmeric
¼ teaspoon Cayenne
1 teaspoon Salt
3 eaches Fresh hot green chiles

Directions

Peel & dice potatoes.

Heat oil in a non-stick skillet. When hot, put in the potatoes & fry till they are golden brown, stirring frequently. When they are golden, remove & set aside.

Put red chiles into the oil, when they darken, add poppy seeds & 2 tb water. Stir & saute until the paste browns. Put in the potatoes, ¾ c water & the spices. Stir to mix & simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
