Savory clam toasts

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 tablespoons Butter
1 small Onion, finely chopped
½ Green pepper, seeded and finely chopped
ounce Can chopped clams, drained
1 cup Grated Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon Tomato poaste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce a tb dry sherry
teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1 Dill pickle, thinly sliced
4 slices Hot buttered toast

Directions

Melt butter, add onion and green pepper; saute for 3 minutes. Add clams, grated cheese, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, sherry and cayenne pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese melts. Place a pickle slice on each slice of toast; spoon clam mixture on top.
