Seven minute burnt sugar frosting

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 Egg whites
cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Burnt sugar syrup
cup Cold water
1 dash Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Place all ingredients except vanilla in double boiler; mix thoroughly.

Cook, beating constantly with rotary or electric mixer, until mixture forms peaks, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; beat until frosting reaches spreading consistency. Ice cooled cake.
