Smoky mountain jam squares

Ingredients

1 cup Butter or margarine
1 cup Firmly packed brown sugar
½ cup Blackberry jam
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cups Martha White self-rising flour
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Cloves
1 cup Chopped black walnuts
Caramel Glaze

Directions

Directions: Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in remaining ingredients in order listed; mixing well after each addition. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and drizzle with glaze. Makes 48 squares.

Caramel Glaze: In small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 T butter or margarine. Stir in ¼ c firmly packed brown sugar and 3 T milk. Bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in 1 c Confectioners' sugar and 1 t vanilla.
