Spiced red cabbage with apples and thyme - bon appetit

Ingredients

2 pounds Red cabbage, cored, shredded
1 pounds Tart green apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled, cored, finely chopped
1 large Onion, finely chopped
½ cup Dry red wine
½ cup Orange juice
2 tablespoons Red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 Garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon Grated orange peel
1 teaspoon Dried thyme
¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon Ground allspice

Directions

Preheat oven to 400'F. Place all ingredients in heavy large ovenproof Dutch oven. Cover; bake until cabbage is tender, about 1 hour.

Transfer Dutch oven to stovetop, uncover and boil until juices thicken slightly, about 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
