1 | cup | Molasses |
1 | large | Garlic; minced |
1 | tablespoon | Balsamic vinegar |
1 | teaspoon | Cayenne |
½ | teaspoon | Red pepper flakes |
1 | teaspoon | Sweet hungarian paprika |
⅛ | teaspoon | Cloves; ground |
1 | Chipotle pepper; minced | |
⅛ | teaspoon | Celery seed |
⅛ | teaspoon | Coriander |
1 | teaspoon | Liquid barbecue smokeĀ® |
¼ | teaspoon | Red,white,green and black pe |
1 | Lemon juice | |
dash | Ginger |
Directions
Pour the tomato sauce into a heavy 3 qrt saucepan. Bring the heat up to medium and start the sauce warming. Add the minced garlic, sugar, molasses, balsamic vinegar, and spices and let the sauce warm until it just bubbles. You may up the heat a little but don't let the sauce boil. When sauce starts to bubble add the liquid smoke and the squeeeze of fresh lemon juice and let sauce sit on low or warm until ready to use.
