Aunt linda's soon-to-be-famous sauce

Ingredients

3 | pounds | Ground beef; (up to 4) |
6 | larges | Cloves garlic; minced |
2 | mediums | Onion; finely chopped |
6 | quarts | Canned tomatoes |
2 | larges | Can tomato paste |
4 | tablespoons | Sugar |
3 | tablespoons | Sweet basil |
3 | tablespoons | Oregano |
Salt and Pepper to taste |
Directions
In a LARGE pot brown meat, garlic, and onions. Drain. Add tomatoes, paste, and all spices. If it seems too thick add a can of water. Simmer at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
During the last hour check the thickness and add water if you feel the need.
This can be kept in sealed jars in the fridge for 4-5 weeks without the ground beef. It can also be canned or frozen without the ground beef.
