Apple walnut wild rice

¼ | cup | Chopped walnuts |
1 | tablespoon | Margarine or butter |
1 | medium | Onion, chopped |
1 | pack | NEAR EAST Long Grain & Wild Rice Pilaf Mix (6 oz) |
1 | cup | Apple juice |
1 | cup | Water |
¼ | teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
1 | medium | Red apple, cut into 1/2\" pieces, unpeeled |
Directions
1. In medium saucepan, add nuts and heat oven medium heat. Cook 5-6 minutes or until nuts are light golden brown and fragrant, stirring frequently. Remove from pan; set aside 2. In same saucepan, melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion; cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add rice pilaf mix; cook 30 seconds, stirring occasionally.
3. Add juice, water, contents of Spice Sack and cinnamon; bring to a boil.
4. Cover, reduce heat to low. Simmer 30 minutes or until most of liquid is absorbed.
5. Stir in apple and walnuts just before serving.
