Betty carter's refrigerator pickles

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
12 pounds Cucumbers,small -- very
Small
1 Onion -- sliced
4 cups Sugar
4 cups Vinegar
½ cup Salt
1⅓ tablespoon Celery seed
1⅓ tablespoon Mustard seed
1⅓ teaspoon Turmeric

Directions

Slice cucumbers and onion and place in gallon jars. Mix remaining ingredients well. Pour mixture over cucumbers. Screw lids on tightly.

Place in refrigerator. Let stand 5 days before tasting. Will keep for a year.
