Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
2 | cups | Apples; peeled and chopped |
1 | cup | Celery; chopped |
1 | medium | Onion; chopped |
⅓ | cup | Buttter (or shortening) |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
⅛ | teaspoon | Pepper |
6 | cups | Bread cubes, stale |
2 | tablespoons | Water; or liquid from cooked giblets |
Directions
Prepare apples. Saute celery and onion in butter; add salt and pepper, bread and apples. Sprinkle with water. More moisture will come from the apples, and the cooked dressing will not be dry. Mix dressing well and stuff turkey. Yield: enough for a 10 to 12 pound turkey.
