Easy spiced apple butter

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
(Cooks in the oven so it won't scorch)
2 cups Sweet apple cider
¼ cup Light brown sugar
¼ cup Butterscotch dessert mix
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Ginger
½ teaspoon Nutmeg
½ teaspoon Ground cloves
pounds Rome beatury (or similar) apples, cored and quartered, do not
Peel.

Directions

Cook first 7 ingredients in heavy overproof Dutch oven or other large kettle over low heat, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves.

Increase heat and bring to a boil. Add apples and return to boil.

Cover and bake at 350F until apples are very soft and liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally, aobut 2 hours. Cool slightly.

Puree in food processor or blender until smooth. Pack into clean glass containers with tight fitting lids. Store in refrigerator.
