Fried apples with curry
5 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
4 | Apples (Granny Smith are best; but any can do.) | |
1 | medium | Yellow onion; sliced thin |
3 | tablespoons | Butter |
1 | tablespoon | Curry powder |
Salt & pepper to taste |
Directions
This is a great side dish or relish for any kind of meat course. The flavor is mild but sweet, and the curry sets the natural sugar of the apples.
Core and wedge the apples with an apple/pear corer-cutter, or do the same by hand. Heat a frying pan and saut the onions with the butter until they are clear. Add the apples and saut until the apples are not quite tender.
Add the seasonings and toss.
