Fried crab canapes

Ingredients

½ | pounds | Crabmeat, flaked |
4 | Water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped | |
1½ | tablespoon | Cornstarch |
1 | Egg, lightly beaten | |
2 | teaspoons | Worcestershire sauce |
¾ | teaspoon | Salt Dash tabasco |
8 | slices | Day-old firm white bread, crusts removed Oil for frying |
Directions
In bowl, combine crab, water chestnuts, cornstarch, egg, Worcestershire, salt, and tabasco. Cut each slice of bread into 4 triangles. Spread with crab misture. Preheat oil to 375 in deep fryer. Add bread triangles, crab side down. Fry 1 minute on each side. Drain on paper towels,; serve hot.
