½ cup BUTTER OR MARGARINE
3 ounces UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
3 cups WATER
½ teaspoon SALT
15 ounces CAN OF EVAPORATED MILK

Directions

MELT BUTTER IN THE TOP OF A DOUBLE BOILER OVER BOILING WATER. ADD CHOCOLATE, HEATING UNTIL MELTED. ADD SUGAR, ½ CUP AT A TIME, STIRRING UNTIL DISSOLVED. STIR IN SALT. SLOWLY ADD MILK. MIX WELL. CHILL SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE USING.
