Harvest ham bake

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 mediums Squash, acorn
pounds Ham; sliced 1/2\" thick
cup Sugar, brown; firmly packed
2 tablespoons Mustard, dry
2 teaspoons Water
3 mediums Apples, cooking; cut in 1/2\" slices
¼ teaspoon Nutmeg, ground
2 tablespoons Butter (or marg.)
2 cups Apple cider

Directions

Wash squash; cut into ¼" slices, and remove seeds. Place slices in a 2-½ quart casserole and arrange ham slices on top.

Combine sugar, mustard, and water; spread over ham.

Arrange apples over ham; sprinkle with nutmeg, and dot with butter.

Pour cider over casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1-½ hours, basting often.
