Oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Flour (sifted)
1 teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
¾ cup Shortening
1 cup Brown sugar
2 Eggs
cup Milk
1 cup Chocolate chips
3 cups Rolled oats
1 cup Walnuts (chopped)

Directions

Sift first 5 ingredients (left to right) into bowl; add shortening, brown sugar, eggs and half the milk. Beat until smooth about 2 minutes; fold in remaining milk, chocolate chips, rolled oats and walnuts. Drop from teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet; bake in 375-degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen.
