Orange shortbread

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
Sticks Butter; room temperature
½ cup Plus
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 cup Flour
2 teaspoons Orange Peel; finely grated
½ cup Cornstarch

Directions

Grease and flour 9" square baking pan. Beat butter and the ½ cup sugar with mixer til creamy. Beat in orange peel. Stir in flour and cornstarch til blended. Spread mixture in prepared pan. Chill 30 min. Heat oven to 350. With sharp knif score dough in 1 1/2x3" bars. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake 50 min. or til golden. Cut through scored lines.

Cool in pan on rack.
