4 servings

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 larges Eggs
2 larges Egg whites
1 cup 1% milk
½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
8 Slices challah bread, cut 3/4 inch thick; or you may sub fresh white or Italian bread

Directions

Beat the eggs and egg whites together.

Add the milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the eggs and mix well.

Soak the sliced bread in the egg mixture for approx 5 mins, until the mixture is absorbed.

Preheat oven to 350. Arrange bread on a nonstick baking sheet. Bake for approx 15 mins, until bread is lightly browned. Or, fry slices in a nonstick frying pan.

Options: Great with powdered sugar, sugar and cinnamon, jellies, maple syrup, lemon and powdered sugar, orange and powdered sugar, fruits, chocolate sauce, fruit pie fillings and nonfat ice cream.

21% cals from fat

My note: I dip the slices in the mixture in a bowl, then pour any remaining over to soak in. This stuff is really good! From Food, by Susan Powter Posted by Lisa Greenwood Submitted By LISA GREENWOOD On 07-18-95
