Spiced apple cider - sl 11/85

½ | gallon | Apple cider |
1 | cup | Sugar |
2 | teaspoons | Whole cloves |
1 | each | Whole nutmeg |
2 | cups | Orange juice |
½ | cup | Lemon juice |
½ | cup | Apple brandy (optional) |
Cinnamon sticks |
Directions
Combine apple cider and sugar in a Dutch oven. Tie cloves and nutmeg in a cheesecloth bag; add to cider mixture. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Remove spice bag, and add juices. Stir in brandy, if desired. Simmer until heated. Serve with cinnamon-stick stirrers. Yield: 2-½ quarts.
