Spicy orange pork ribs

Ingredients

3 | pounds | Pork side ribs |
1 | each | Onion, chopped |
1 | cup | Orange juice |
3 | tablespoons | Liquid honey |
1 | tablespoon | Soy sauce, and minced ginger |
1 | each | Bay leaf |
1 | teaspoon | Five spice powder |
1 | each | Clove garlic |
Directions
SAUCE
Place cut ribs, bay leaf and onion in large dutch oven. Cover with cold water and bring to boil. Simmer for about 30-45 minutes until cooked and tender. Drain. In seperate pot, bring all the sauce ingredients to a boil and cook for about 7-10 minutes. Cool slightly. Layer ribs in baking dish and spoon sauce over top turning ribs to coat completely. Save about ¼ cup sauce for basting while baking. Bake in 350F for 30-40 minutes or until sauce has glazed and thickened. Makes 4 servings. Origin: Adapted from a recipe in Canadian Living, March/95.
