White trash cajun anisette

Ingredients

| 8 | cups | Sugar |
| 12 | cups | Water |
| 1 | teaspoon | Oil of anise |
| Red food coloring | ||
| Vodka | ||
Directions
Boil sugar and water. Then turn off fire. Add 1 tsp oil of anise.
Color it pink with food coloring, and when cold, add a fifth of vodka. Let stand six weeks before using, and you can't tell if from bought. Origin: White Trash Cooking. Shared by: Sharon Stevens, July/95.
