¼ | cup | Soy sauce |
2 | tablespoons | Sugar 2; (5 oz.) cans water chestnuts, drained |
10 | slices | Bacon; cut in half crosswise |

Directions
Combine soy sauce with sugar. Marinate chestnuts in mixture for approximately 30 minutes. Wrap chestnuts with bacon. Secure with a wooden toothpick. Place on broiler rack. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
Variation: Marinate water chestnuts in teriyaki sauce. Stuff pitted dates with water chestnuts. Wrap with bacon and broil.
