Cabbage with meat sauce

Ingredients

1 pounds Pork sausage
1 each Green pepper -- chopped
1 cup Chopped onion
1 cup Tomato juice
1 can Tomatoes -- 14 1/2 oz
Diced with liquid
2 tablespoons Fresh oregano -- or 2 tsp.
Dried
¼ teaspoon Salt
1 dash Pepper
¼ cup Butter or margarine
1 medium Head of cabbage -- thinly
Sliced

Directions

In a skillet, cook sausage, green pepper and onion until the sausage is browned; drain. Stir in the tomato juice, tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper; simmer for 1 hr. Melt butter in a dutch oven; saute cabbage over med. heat until tender, about 15 min. Transfer to serving platter; top with the meat sauce. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
