Cabbage with meat sauce

1 | pounds | Pork sausage |
1 | each | Green pepper -- chopped |
1 | cup | Chopped onion |
1 | cup | Tomato juice |
1 | can | Tomatoes -- 14 1/2 oz |
Diced with liquid | ||
2 | tablespoons | Fresh oregano -- or 2 tsp. |
Dried | ||
¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | dash | Pepper |
¼ | cup | Butter or margarine |
1 | medium | Head of cabbage -- thinly |

Directions
In a skillet, cook sausage, green pepper and onion until the sausage is browned; drain. Stir in the tomato juice, tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper; simmer for 1 hr. Melt butter in a dutch oven; saute cabbage over med. heat until tender, about 15 min. Transfer to serving platter; top with the meat sauce. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
