Cranberry waffles and orange sauce

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Buttermilk biscuit mix
¼ cup Sugar
3 Eggs; beaten
½ cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Salt
cup Water; boiling
cup Milk
3 tablespoons Shortening; melted
1 cup Cranberries, raw; ground
1 tablespoon Butter (or marg.)
1 tablespoon Orange rind; grated
½ cup Orange juice
1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

ORANGE SAUCE

Combine biscuit mix and sugar; stir in eggs and milk. Add melted shortening, mixing well; fold in cranberries. Bake in a preheated waffle baker, and serve with Orange sauce.

Orange Sauce: Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt; add to boiling water. Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in butter orange rind, orange juice, and lemon juice. Yield: about 2 cups.
