3 tablespoons Bacon Fat Or Vegetable Oil
Salt And Freshly Ground
Pepper -- to taste

Directions

In a heavy cast-iron skillet, slowly cook the cabbage with the sugar in the bacon fat or vegetable oil, covered, about 30 mins, or until the cabbage gets a reddish tinge. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
