Fresh tomato pasta with ham, cream and mushroom sauce

375 grams Fresh or packaged pasta
1 cup Sliced baby mushrooms
A little butter
4 slices Leg ham, chopped
1 each Clove garlic, crushed
Chopped basil to taste
Butter
Salt and pepper
300 millilitres Cream
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Chopped parsley

SAUCE

Cook pasta in boiling, salted water (2 minutes if fresh, 15 minutes if dried). Drain, return to saucepan and stir in some butter. To make sauce: saute mushrooms lightly in butter. Add ham, a little garlic, basil, salt and pepper; stir in cream and heat. Pour the sauce over the noodles, sprinkle with cheese and chopped parsley and serve.
