Macaroni with ham and asparagus

2 cups Asparagus tips and stems steamed (1\" pieces,tender only)(fresh only)
¼ cup Butter
2 Med onions chopped
½ pounds Ham diced
1 cup Heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 pounds Macaroni cooked according to directions
Grated cheese (parmigiana)

Directions

Saute onions in butter until pale in color. Add asparagus and ham and saute for 2 min. Keep heat low and add heavy cream. After 30 seconds turn OFF heat.(don`t get the cream too hot or it will separate). Pour over hot cooked pasta and toss with cheese. Serve with extra cheese on the side.
