Maple pear crunch

⅓ | cup | Maple syrup |
1 | tablespoon | Lemon juice |
4 | larges | Firm ripe pears; cored and thinly sliced |
½ | cup | All purpose flour |
3 | tablespoons | Yellow cornmeal |
3 | tablespoons | Brown sugar; packed |
⅛ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
⅛ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | tablespoons | Unsalted butter; chilled and cut into small pieces |
Directions
Prep: 15 min, Cook: 45 min.
Preheat oven to 375øF. Combine maple syrup and lemon juice in a heavy non-reactive saucepan. Cook over low heat 5 minutes or until very hot.
Remove from heat. Stir in pear slices and transfer to a buttered baking dish. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients, except butter, in a food processor or bowl. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle topping over pears and bake 40 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
