Meat balls in tomato sauce

750 | grams | (1.5lb) minced beef |
1 | Onion, finely chopped | |
50 | grams | (2oz) lng grain rice |
¼ | teaspoon | Chilli powder (optional) |
Salt and pepper | ||
1 | Egg, beaten | |
1 | tablespoon | Oil |
150 | millilitres | (1/4 pint) water |
1 | 298 g (10.5 oz) can | |
Condensed tomato soup | ||
Parsley to garnish |
Directions
Mix together the beef, onion, rice and chilli powder and salt and pepper to taste. Bind the mixture with the egg, then divide into 8 or 12 pieces and form into balls.
Heat the oil in the pressure cooker, add the meat balls and fry until evenly browned. Mix together the water and soup and pour over the meat balls.
Seal the cooker and heat to high pressure. Cook for 15minutes. Reduce the pressure at room temperature.
Transfer to a warmed serving dish and garnish with parsley. Serve with pasta.
