Noodle-cheese casserole

¼ pounds Bacon; sliced
1 pack Noodles, wide (8 ozs); cooked and drained
cup Sour cream; at room temperature
1 cup Cottage cheese
cup Onion; minced
Salt and pepper; to taste

Directions

Recipe by: The Eastern European Cookbook-ISBN 0-486-23562-9 Cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 3 tbs of fat; crumble. Set aside. Mix reserved fat with cooked noodles, sour cream, cottage cheese and onion. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon into a buttered casserole. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for about 30 mins. Serves 8.

NOTES : This Hungarian baked dish, Turos Csusza, may be served as an accompaniment to meats or poultry or enjoyed as a supper dish.
