Smothered cabbage

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 each Large head of cabbage - cleaned and chopped
1 cup Chopped ham
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
1 cup Chopped onion
1 teaspoon Sugar
Salt and black pepper

Directions

In a large Dutch oven, cook the ham pieces and chopped onion in vegetable oil for 5 minutes. Add the chopped cabbage and seasonings; cover and cook for 30 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Stir occasionally during cooking.
