Souscaille (fresh mango appetizer)

Hard green unripe mangoes
1 cup Cold water
2 Garlic cloves; crushed
½ teaspoon Salt
Freshly ground pepper
1 Fresh hot green chili finely chopped more to taste
¼ cup Lime juice

Directions

SAUCE PIQUANTE

Peel the mango and cut it into thin slices. Marinate it in the hot sauce for at least 10 minutes, longer if desired. The longer you marinate the mango, the hotter it will be. This is traditionally eaten by hand. Submitted By DIANE LAZARUS On 01-13-95
